Would you "out" a crook?
« on: June 13, 2011, 12:52:00 PM »
I know that a similar topic was posted by another user but my question is a little more specifc.

Here goes:

Everyone who has every had close dealings with this person, knows that they are a crook-- but its usually after they have been burned.  Yet, nobody has really come "out" with the truth about this individual who goes from church to church, web forums (like this one), and even individuals claiming first to be a Minister...then Prophet...and now an Apostle.  They have done everything from stealing identities, cars and giving false testimonies like my mother died...etc."

So when do we finally just do as the word says and "Mark them"...or do we just continue to hush hush and pray????  How LONG do we pray, while they continue to travel throughout the body of Christ with this mess?

Talk to me...the mic is yours

to add to the above info:

When would WE be held accountable for NOT warning people about this?  Would be blood be on our hands if we know better but refused to speak up?

I think we would (especially shepherds), be responsible for allowing wolves to ravage unsuspecting sheep... this is difficult...

Isnt this the same as the Call out ministry. Granted there is alot more depth to this question than the later, but I think we've covered the answer over there

Not exactly...I read that forum and still could not see a clear answer.  If you can quote a reply from there that answers this...let me know :)

Dunno.  I guess it would depend on the circumstances.  Off the top of my head, I'd say that, depending upon my level of relationship with the offender and/or the potential victims, I'd address the issue with the person/persons most likely to get results.  That could be the pastor, if in a church setting, or the police directly.  Of course, in situations like this, to make a claim or accusation, there must be accompanying proof.  Otherwise, you just become a busybody in the minds of many.

So, I would think the logical first step is to make sure I have sufficient evidence of wrong-doing before I make any claims against the character of another.

also, in my opinion if someone is doing something illegal simply report it to the police.

Okay, but after the police....would you warn others.  I've reported things to the police but they were still "on the run" in the churches.  :)

And I think that's why many don't come forward.  Individually, each of the victims don't have enough to back up their claims... I guess at some point there should be communication so that we can begin to see the patterns.  My organization has discussed an online database where each pastor/church can login and check someone's credentials and current standing.  I think that is so needed in this day and time.  However, unless we interface with the other major organizations, it'll still be a problem.
