I was gonna ask the same thing. Someone is having a music conference and says that they will be teaching on prophetic playing....

That's funny because I've never heard of prophetic dancing. LOL.

Prophetic singing usually refers to a song that is given to the singer from the Lord on the spot. Pastor Jackson does that a lot, although I've never heard him call it prophetic singing. He'll start preaching/exhorting about something, and then start singing it, and then from there, lyrics and verses come to him and he just sings it... he did that one time about a year ago and sang an entire song with like 3 or 4 different verses. It was kinda amazing to watch. There's a young lady in Atlanta who is very gifted in this area. No matter what she sings, just about every time she gets up, she ends up flowing into something else that really blesses and ministers to the people and to God.

I guess another way of describing it would be "impromptu" singing, or maybe "freestyling"   which really may not convey what is actually taking place... and that's probably why they call it prophetic singing.

A lot of people are gifted like that, but most people don't label it "prophetic singing."

Hmmm I would say prophetic playing or anything "prophetic" has to do with God speaking to His people. Just a guess.

Prophetic playing falls along the same lines as prophetic singing... freestyling - but as the Holy Ghost leads. It's kinda like (I don't know if you've ever experienced this on any level, but I know a few ppl who have, even an LGMer or two) when you are playing and all of a sudden, the Spirit takes over your fingers and you're playing something you've never heard or didn't know to play... I'm not a musician, so I really don't know how it works, but I guess you might hear the melody in your head or maybe not.... maybe your fingers just hit the keys and the song is born right there in the moment... I would venture to say that if it's something you didn't prepare for, it's led by the Holy Ghost, and it ministers to people and/or God, many people would call it prophetic playing.

IRT Prophetic dancing: I never heard it before either. Until I saw a clipon youtube entitled "Prophetic Dancing" or something like that. Then this lady came to visit out church. I told my godmother that she looked familiar. And she told me she praise dances and does prophetic dancing. ???? I don't get it. But......... oh.                                                          IRT singing: Oh. My co-pastor called me up and prayed for me about that before. I hadn't thought about it. 'Till I was at my friend church and the lady said she was in a "new" place and she does prophetic singing. That's what kinda raised my question.
