Programming Kurzweil PC2X
« on: December 21, 2004, 02:22:59 AM »
Does anyone here know how to program the 16 "speedsets" (so-to-speak) on the face of the keyboard?  When it was bought (second-hand), you could turn it on, hit button 1 and it would bring up 005 Concert Grand and whatnot.  I asuume the previous owner set it this way.  It was reset and now button 1 pulls up 000 Stereo Grand.

I need to know how to program these buttons to what I want.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use the PC2x alot...but I guess u talkin about saving ur own setups...If so I pick i want to use (bass / piono split).....It will automatically change ur mode from interal to midi setups...when you got the right setup...hit save on the board (should be by compare, panic buttons) hit enter and that's it...I didn't know it was 16 tho...I thought u can save as many sounds as u want dfepend on how much memory u have...and it's a plenty..

Hope this helps! :D

Thanks, but I'm talking about how when you first turn the keyboard on, you can hit any of the 16 physical buttons on the face of the keyboard and it will bring up the instrument from that group.

If you hit button one, it'll bring up Stereo Grand from the
"Piano 1" group.  If you hit 2, it'll bring up another piano from the "Piano 2" group.  I want to change which sound it brings up when you hit that button.

ohhh...u should see next group and previous groups buttons right under midi setups... that will change the sound in that group...u can even use the wheel to change the sounds as well...

Right, but if I change the sound within the group, if I hit Button 1 again, it'll go back to "Stereo Grand."  When I turn the kb on, I want to be able to hit Button 1 and it go to say "Concert Grand."

Now let's say for example u turn your kb on and the first sound u get is concert grand....now u can take any sound and make it ur default sound (each time u turn on your keyboard)...push the program key...pick any sound u want (like stereo grand or tack piano...any sound) turn the board off and turn it back on...now the sound u picked will now be ur default sound (or the first sound u see when it comes on)...Just a little trick!

Awesome!  This keyboard is actually my dad's, so it'll make him happy to have those options set the way he wants.  He plays only for his relaxation, and I only get to touch it when I'm home. Our piano is widly old and out of tune, so the keyboard sits next to my C3, which I still need a Leslie for.

There are 1,001 features on that thing.  Combined the both of us use maybe 8 of them.

One of these days I'm going to get one of those keyboards for myself.  Most of the time, I concentrate better on my music really, really late a night but I have no keyboard at school.
