This video has just made me want to try one. Looks like you don`t even need to play these pedals, just put it somewhere in your house and readjust it from time to time when you get bored.

So our Pearl rep stopped by today, and I got a chance to try this baby out w/ the long board setting. It really is a very smooth pedal, and even w/ a low spring tension it had a pretty good feel to it.

Aesthetically, this thing is gorgeous. As is the case (smilar to the eliminator, but w/ orange trim). I am definitely going to be purchasing one of these babies, but still not sure if I'm gonna get the single or double

This is all about marketing.  Every pedal Pearl comes out with is supposed to be the ultimate pedal.  It's a great development, but I will not give in to the hype. 

I have been using this same Pearl pedal for 16 years. 

Yes, 16 years.  It was supposed to be the end all be all pedal back them.  For me it has been.  The only thing I've ever had to replace is the front part of the rubber mat on the bottom.  This pedal is even collapsible for transport.  It's been super durable and is still as smooth as the day I first bought it.  And believe me, I have put my foot in it.

If you want this pedal by all means get it.  But what would you if Pearl had not come out with it?  Would you be stuck in your playing?  Don't spend money if you really don't have to.

Aye guys I have been busy lately but I went to the Demo last friday. They had a Pearl rep there... I tried the short board double and the watched the conversion to long board (5 mins) and played the long board as a single on a Pearl Reference kit with 20" kick. I like a super heavy spring tension and use the DW Heavy Weight springs on my Yamaha doubles with the beaters fully extended and pull back to my shin. I was able to acheive the same tension with this Pearl pedal with fully cranking the spring. that is how adjustable this thing is.

Before testing it I thought the price was too high but after trying it myself $619 for the double is a great price. I think this is the last pedal anyone will need to buy. The versatility of settings is like 4-pedals-in-one. I already have the Yamaha doubles pre-Flying Dragon days and I have the Limited Edition chrome Iron Cobra doubles. This new Pearl pedal is the top gun in the industry... DW9000 and DW8000/5000 long boards are going to take a back seat in side to side comparison. IMHO.

I have the Iron cobra (limited ed) as well. What I felt was that the stability of the pedal itself wasn't that great (sort of rocks a bit while playing)

how is the Demon drive in comparison? it only has one "pillar" for support, so I was curious about the stability

also, what do you think of your Iron cobra in comparison with the demon dragon?
