MUSIC PRODUCTION (PLEASE RESPOND)!!

Hello all. I am a musician in Birmingham, Alabama. I am a keyboardist and songwriter. Over there years, I have been wanting to do a studio project of my own songs/compositions but am having a hard time finding someone with the vision that I have for my material. Most studios you go to, just want you to pay for studio time and nothing too much more... I am looking for someone or a place that can work with me, and sit down and listen to what I want to do. Again I am in Birmingham, Alabama. If anyone out there knows of any LEGITIMATE places or persons, please post your comments here or email me at ant_1_1999@yahoo.com. I am willing to travel as well because this is something that I have been wantting to do for years.

I know what you're talking about.  You need to find a producer for your songs and just use a studio for getting the recording work done.  I used to offer producer services and nobody was using them so I focused more on recording only.

Ask different studios if they offer help in the producing side of it. Some studios will only give you what you ASK for. Also read and study about recording side of things. This allows you to better explain in engineer terms what you want. go to youtube and look up things like the music industry, music business, studio recording, etc. the most important thing is to ask questions and do not settle for less than what you want. Take your time and be your own boss. Study Study Study!!

Hey. I am a huge fan of Mrs. Coates. I think she is buried in a cemetery not far from where I stay. I love how humble she was and how annointed her voice was.

Producing music (real music) requires some specialized skills.  You have to be able to work closely with songwriters and understand their vision as well as be creative enough to possibly take it in a different direction if that's what is needed.
I agree with cutepreacher that you should ask a few studios and they might be able to connect you with someone if they don't offer those services.

You could go to the nearest church & find some dynamic producers or frequent your nearest Guitar Center or something similar, where they sale pro audio equipment. I have met some heavy cats, in Guitar Center on the production side, since I have been putting together a home studio. Just strike up a coversation, just pay attention to what they are looking at.
