does it matter???

I've been trying to found out does it matter what chords you use when trying to learn a new song...Because i've been learning songs but my chords doesn't sound the same but they work sometimes.... I just want to know does it really matter???what chords you use... and other things how can you detect or know the type of chords that are being used in a song???? I've also been trying to learn the chords in a song you know picking them out things like that....

If you want to sound like the CD, yeah it does.  If you want to dub it "your version/style" of the song then no.  To answer your other question, seach for a piano chord finder online.  If you know how to make the chord you can make it using the online chord finder and it will tell you what chords you're using.
