Tye in Detroit
« on: July 15, 2008, 09:34:28 PM »
Ay, Did anyone get a chance to check out the FREE concert in Detroit with Tye Tribbett??? It was sick. I wish Tye could have sang a couple more songs though. :-\. Here and some others that performed

Good overall concert.

Pudge really held it down for Tye that night. He wasn't the best drummer there however. The drummer that plays for Greater Grace in Detroit interest me the most. Anyone know his name???

About 4k people showed up and packed Straight Gate out!! We had good seats two. Some were not ever able to get in.

Just wanted to share with you all. If you haven't gotten the chance to see Tye Live. Please Do It!! :D

Yo, I attended the concert...It wasn't looking so good for me when I first got there around 5ish.....the line was wrapped all the way around the church and beyond ..I stood in the back for a min' and called on some favors and got in! Thank God! The scene was almost as bad as the Philly 'Victory' recording from a few years ago.

As far as the concert goes, I could've done without all of the opening acts....Not to mention the free giveaways....I understand they needed to do that to promote their site so I'm not trippin'.

Greater Grace's drummer? Hmm, was it Joe Otis on set? I didn't really pay attn' to who was playing ....if it was Joe, he's a beast!!! (on keys also)    Pudge did hold it down, though!!

I wish Tye could've done more songs....they opened up with I want it all back .. I was hoping to hear either Hold on or Standout...the new remix they did to 'no way', BANANAZ!!!

I was hoping to hear All Hail The King, Hallelujah and I made it through...dah' well, maybe next time!

The worship atmosphere was on point ! They did Bless the Lord (son of man) , I need you and some other slow joints.

All in all, it was coo'.

Yeah for some reason Tye never sings the songs you want him to sing! Like the most popular ones. Last time I saw him I was hopin he would do I made it through, but he didn't. They did "no other choice", and some other ones..........and a friend of mine said he didn't do I made it through either when he came to his area.

Well i guess you can't please all the people all the time. maybe hes saving some songs for later?
Praise Him with clashing cymbals!

You were?? :D. I was down on the bottom section to the left with a shirt that had an Atom Bomb on the back :D Couldn't miss me!!  Repping Abundant Life Ministries of Ypsilanti. Woot!

Ay, I agree. The opening acts were to long. J Drew should stick to drums :-[. The Guy who played for J Drew was the guy from Greater Grace?? Dark Skinned dude. He was my fave. He played with the Click Track PERFECTLY! And he let the song breathe. 21:03's drummer was nice as well. :)

I think he should have gave us more of the Shout at the End Though. He juked the whole crowd on that one.LOL.

Great Concert though. Plus it WAS Free.

Nice, Yeah let us know man.

GGFZ!!!! The Tye Concert last night was incredible!  :o The only thing that matters is that God showed up and leveled the place!
The band held it down and Pudge killed it!!!! Pudge's chops were oh so clean and he did not dissappoint! The new dude on keys was a monster too! I think he plays keys or played keys for Steven Ford. Phil Hughley held it down on guitar. Thad killed it on the bass as usual and the horn section was incredible as always!

Mike Redd started the event with a 2 on 2 BBall tournament and a dunk contest with some dudes from GA in the dunk contest. Tye jumped on the kit to bring some life to the dunk contest and did some nice chops.

Tye & GA did I WANT IT ALL BACK(REMIX VICTORY ALBUM) and HOLD ON from the latest album which was completely crazy and then took a break for the final round of the dunk contest.

After the dunk contest everybody was ready for Tye and they started off with STAND OUT and that song was hitting so hard!! Then BLESS THE LORD(Stand Out Version), I NEED YOU, EVERYTHING(Life Album), then Tye preached for about 45mins to an hour and man did he preach, but when he was done they said he had 15 mins left and he said he thought he had all night, so they did LET US WORSHIP, SO AMAZING, and VICTORY!!!!

There is so much more I could say, but I'm trying to keep it short. Overall I give the concert 10 out of 10 because the concert was amazing and the main purpose of the event was accomplished because many gave their life to Christ and they even had a baptism pool for the people!

That is good to hear man.

That sounds exactly like the concert we went to, when I think about it. They said that he had 11 minutes left and he did those last three songs you mentioned. Hmmmmm :-\ ::)

Tye did all of those songs in that order too.. :P
