SMITTY:
The JPK version of "Rain on Us" that has me on it is a studio track. John threw some live audio ambience in there so it would have the energy of a live track. No video, other than a live show John did at Kings Dominion. Sorry bro!

E.R.:
Wassup bro...I see they got you to start coming back around! Welcome back and Happy New Year!
To answer your question, I own and use about 5 other snare drums, besides the PL drums. Just so you can get an idea of what these drums sound like, I listed a track that I know I used the other drums on.

6x13 Yamaha Musachi(on Donald Lawrence version of "I Am Healed")
6 1/2x14 Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute(the infamous Silver Sparkle drum that I love soooo much)
5 1/2x14 Yamaha Brass Nouveau(on Hezekiah Walkers 20/85 "Let's All Celebrate")
6 1/2x14 Dynasty Custom Drums Maple Snare(This snare drum is becoming one of my favorites. Check out the open solo on my myspace page to hear it.)
5x13 Yamaha Steve Gadd Signature Snare(mainly used as a side snare on road with FH)

The 6x13 Yamaha Musachi always sounds good on any track...Its a must have snare in the collection.
Mapex Drums, Grant Custom Basses, Carparelli Basses, Istanbul Cymbals,!

No problem - just make sure you contact them to confirm that it's in stock before ordering.  I've heard some negative stories about them regarding (supposed) in stock items.

Sad, but true about wwbw.  I used to order my marching season supplies from the Fall of 1991 through the Fall of 1998.  A few years ago, I wanted to order some items from them because Midwest Percussion messed up an $1,800.00+ order that I placed with them (watch out for them, too).  I wanted to price match some items, and you know what they told me?  "Why don't you just get it from them?"  I was livid, to say the least.  I got a manager on the phone (Bobby Wantuch - I remember when he was initially hired for his job at The Woodwind and Brasswind).  I gave him my order history (1991-1998) and I've also informed him of the conversation with his representative and myself.  He was willing to do a price match, but the way that I was treated, I just told him that I'd never order from them again.

Long story short, please call prior to ordering.  *lol*

Dilligent, Happy New Year to you as well bro. I always answer questions around here....when I'm asked. I'll admit to being a little slow at times. But I'm on the site a little more now, mainly because of all the dope clips yall be posting! LOL
Anyway, to be honest, I've never heard Chris' version of Rain On Us. As far as what I'm listening to right now...EVERYTHING! I got a lot of underground Teddy Campbell and Rex Hardy stuff I been listening to. Also, a lot of Weckl. Some old Fred Hammond stuff, William Murphy's new album, Roy Hargrove's "Moment to Moment"(the orchestration is unbelieveable), Yellowjackets "Greenhouse & Like A River", Marvin Winans' new album....
These records are inspiring me most right now.

...man that's a real nice snare collection Big C.  :o  The Paul Leim 5.5x14 is my fave. though.  That's a must own "if" anyone can find it.  Teddy is rockin' the mess out of that one. LOL

...Yo Cal, you've got to check out the David Garibaldi Sign. snare drum as an auxillary snare.  That joka is straight fiya.  :o  IMHO

Wow. I haven't had them mess up an order THAT big. But I have had them be quite rude with me on returning something that was faulty. A pocket trumpet for my Dad. The valves were sticking after we bought it. We kept it for a little while, trying to work them out. Didn't happen. Called to return it, and they said it was too late they wouldn't be able to. . . Needless to say, I am not a customer there anymore either.
