I dont know guys, I loved most of his playing on this one...There were some fills thats were in time but out of place or too bulky for where he chose to use it. I dont like the sound of his snare for this cd.. Ive heard it sound good on other cds but it was too bulky for this one. (In my opinion..LOL)

...that's the effect of that Emperor X.  Now if he would've used the C.S. Coated Ambassador it would've been a different story.

Beat displacement is the term you are looking for Diligent-Hands. You can practice this by using the Syncopation exercises in Ted Reed's book Syncopation. Or if reading isn't your thing yet Pete Alexander demonstrates in his clips on GospelKeyboard (moving he accent around one hit at a time per beat?quarter note). As well Chris Coleman teaches it on his DVD.
