« on: December 05, 2006, 09:01:03 PM »

Thanks!

There's something about a "PC Music Studio Kit" that's sold separately. It would probably be hooked up like this: P70 > Music Studio Kit > PC/Mac.

Information can be found here.

Not sure about pricing though.

Also, if not PC compatible, I am sure it is MIDI compatible. You can get a MIDI/USB interface and get any sequencer program and you on your way to making midi files.

If the keyboard does not have a USB port (the square looking thing around the other inputs) but have MIDI ports ( the circular port that has 5 holes on them) then you can get what I gave you the link for....it is to play from the keyboard to the PC...

Still confused my friend??

So, you're saying that if the keyboard doesn't have the USB port, I'd have to buy it and then download like VanBoskco or whatever and be able to play on the keyboard and it'll show up on my computer?

Yes, but Vanbasco is only to play back midi files not record.  An example of a sequencing program is Anvil Studio.  If you going to record midi files strictly then this program is for you.  Theres others out there that you can check out as well.

Yeah, you'll need midi cables that have "ends" that look like this:

You can even get cables with a direct connection to the PC without needing a USB interface. Like...

But I'm with ddw4e, I prefer USB interface. I've used one of these before & does a decent job:

As for free midi recording software I think you can give Audacity a go... But don't quote me on that.
