how can i overcome stage freight

whenevere i am called upon to lead a song, my mind always go bang! bang! wat do i do.somebody pls help

this was happening to me when I directed, sang background, and led, no matter where we were...the only way I made it through each, was to constantly pray to myself, "Thank You God for not giving me the Spirit of fear! and Holy Spirit send peace..." it worked for me...i pray you find a technique as well.

pray!!! The Bible says pray without ceasing!!! so pray before you get up to sing, let the spirit lead you and let the Lord use your voice fo His glory.

I have been in the public eye for as long as I can remember.  I STILL get a little nervous.  However, the more you do it, the easier it will be.  Also, everything else that was said above is great advice.

(Also, it's stage fright)   ;D

when i first started out i would look at the ceiling at the very back of the room. so it looked like i was looking at them. later on i was able to look in the crowd, which gives you that feeling that some say is unexplainable.

The main thing is preparation. When you are not truly prepared that really makes you nervous. The next thing you just have to put yourself out there mistakes or no mistakes. In time you will not be nervvous anymore.

What helped me was to pray and realize that its unto GOD and as long as my heart is right and its unto him it doesnt matter about people.  I had to sing with my eyes closed for the longest now I can sing with them closed laid out on the floor whatever whenever. ;D
