Our children's choir used to sing this song, but I learned it from a group called the Sunshine Express (at least I think that was the name of their choir). Anyway, their version was really simple but maybe it will at least give you an idea how it goes:
THE LORD IS HIGH ABOVE THE HEAVENS
Arranged by SisterSteinway
Key of C
C/ C E G
E/ G C E
F/ A C F
G/ B D G
[repeat these chords as quarter notes for four measures as an intro (I do the bass first and then the right hand as eighth notes swing), and in time with these words:"The Lord is high above the heavens/And His glory above the nations" then]
C/ G C E - Give God the highest praise (whole note)
D/ A C D F - Acknowledging Him always (whole note)
Bb/ C D F A - So let the (half note)
G/ F A C - people say
[back to the first four chords for the "Halle, halle, hallelujah" part]
... and then you keep repeating the whole thing and modulating a half step each round ad nauseum. Hope this helps.
