I kinda need some clarification with this particular question..I asked several people and they wasn't clear with the question..I did get some from JoyCH so I goin to post some of hers and maybe it can clear some things up to (I hope) understand the question better...
"Under what circumstances is it more beneficial to read holy writings "confessionally?" How about "academically?"
Joy gave me these..
Beneficial to read about confessions for several reasons.
1) If you need to know what you should be confessing about, esp. a particalar sin
2) To learn the proper way to confess your sins
3) knowledge of judgment
4) how to tell others how to confess
5) Confession is important for communication with God
Academically
1) No one will be able to lie to you about holy writings because you know it
2) Another example of how to communicate with God through his Word
3) Again, you can teach others because you know it and can express it
And by the way Joy...he likes the answers!
