technically........a progression can be considered a walk.......its really a nicer way of saying it ........to me....
try to look at the board like this......
you are on the 2___( d ) and you want to go to the 5____ ( g )... now you know that the chord for the 2 and the 5 are supposed to be minor..and major... chords.....or in another way of putting it is...
lh/rh
2 ( d ) = d,,f,,a
5 ( G )= g,,b,,d
NOW! this is the chord in its original way of playing it..in what is known as root position.....
now if i want to make a walk, i can play the chords between the 2,, and the ,, 5 of the C scale; which would be.....
3 ( e )= e,,g,,b
4 ( f )= f,,a,,c
now! we have in front of us, all of the chords starting at the 2,,, and ending at the 5,, to make a walk, or progression, from the 2,,,,going to the 5...ready?
NOW WHEN WE PUT IT ALL TOGETHER. IT LOOKS LIKE THIS:
LH / RH
D / D,,F,,A
E / E,,G,,B
F / F,,A,,C
G / G,,B,,D
THUS YOU HAVE JUST FORMED A WALK.OR A PROGRESSION, GOING FROM THE 2,,,,, TO THE 5.... GIERES
