Hello guys. I've been playing bass for around 8 months.
My bicep has been tightening up every time I play; been seeing a physical therapist, who gave me exercises to do. They help a little.
I think it's kind of a psychological thing; I'm so determined to do well that I tighten up?
Does anyone else have any suggestions on how to get rid of this bicep tightening?
thanks :)

It may be attributed to how you hold your bass. Do you wear it high, waist high or lower? Find a position that gives you least amount of stress.

I agree with DW...probably in the way you hold and / or wear the bass. For the sake of clarity, which bicep? Plucking hand or fretting hand?

does it happen when you practice at home by your self?

1) Yea, it's the plucking hand.
2) It happens when I practice at home.
3) The middle of the bass is around my groin area. Is that OK?
thanks in advance for any help! :)

can you post a video of you playing?

I would recommend bringing the bass up higher. Sounds like you're playing with the bass in punk rock position, lol
