Just start in the middle of the chord so you have room to go up and to go down and you'll stay "in bounds" (the notes of the chord). Of course the notes of the chord that you play are safe to play in a "run" not really a scale that you play.
Just keep in mind 3 things when you explore...
1. What the chord is.
2. Where the next chord is.
3. When you want to stop.
Notice I never said what notes to play or anything about a specific rhythm or anything about a "scale".
Just to start out play a chord with your left hand (CEGB) and play only those notes in random order (BGCE or EBCG) then all you have to do is put a note between the notes in the chord like (B __ G __ C __ E ___ ) like B (A) G (D) C (F) E...
Keep trying and you'll come up with your own unique signature sound.
