Title: Question!
Post by: JustBritt on May 17, 2010, 09:28:49 PM
What exactly does a M.O.M do? What's required of them?

Our church never had a M.O.M and I was thinking that we should. But then I thought about it, I really don't know what they do. I mean, I have an idea. But I really don't know.....

You really REALLY should search the archives. There's a wealth of info on this subject in previous threads.

This. Beyond that, Google is your friend.

Ok..so, I looked it up, I get it. However, if it's in the M.O.M's job description to prepare songs for the PT, choirs, do vocal arrangements, instrumental arrangements, etc., etc., then why would there be a need for a choir director or a praise team "leader". I'm not fully understanding this.  :-\

Or, is a M.O.M's job description somewhat different in some churches? I understand that they're over the music ministry in general...

I think it depends on the church and how much authority the MOM has. In some churches the MOM does prepare songs and go through the vocal arrangements, etc. The choir director would do more of the directing while the MOM did the teaching/instructional stuff. Like I said, I think it depends on the church.

You raised a good question though.

NVM! After searching through the archives I've found some stuff. Not enough though because.... well, this IS LGM and you know how y'all like to get off subject, and go off on a tangent about things. So I really couldn't get the answers I was looking for on HERE, seeing that it was more "issue" related rather than what I was looking for.

I did find some things searching through google. I can pretty much sort it all out through there. Thanks though, Churchy!  ;) Oh, and got your PM, too!
