Title: Yamaha MO8 or S90ES ?
Post by: NewLevel on April 06, 2008, 01:05:43 AM: Hey guys...I've kind of been doing some research on the net this week on deciding what synth to buy for our church. I've been reading reviews from users of both models and they are so much in (good) comparison, it's crazy. I know the MO8 is about $500 cheaper than the S90ES, but I heard the MO8 comes really close to the new Motif XS series is presets/sounds.

I know most of y'all probably have these synths, so I wanted to ask what is your opinion, due to the sounds...playability...feel, etc..?

BTW...what does 'aftertouch' really mean? A couple reviews I read said the MO8 don't have aftertouch capabilities. Thanks!

Post by: earlbjenkins on April 06, 2008, 08:23:25 AM: I have the S90ES and the piano sounds are outstanding. The MO8 doesn't have the additional piano sounds that the S90ES has included. There are other additional sounds that are included in the S90ES that aren't found in the MO8 (various electric, strings, synths, drums, appregios). You can also install the PLG boards for extra sounds on the S90ES, the MO8 doesn't have that feature. For the most part, everything else is about the same. Both sound good.

I thought about buying the S90ES too but the price was a little more than I wanted to pay at the time. Either way I don't think that you could go wrong with either board. Stay blessed

Yea, cause I have one LOL! I was just talking in terms of the "ES"'s
