Title: Videos for beginners/intermediate musicians who need visual aid
Post by: chevonee on December 16, 2007, 11:09:00 PM
This is just a collection of videos that have helped me on my journey as a musician. You can find alot of this information written out in the General Music Hangout, these just show you how to apply what you've learned. If you have any more videos that you think will help beginners and/or intermediates, please add to the list. I will add more daily as they become available.

I must be late, but, can somebody tell me what a "sticky" is? ?/? ?/?

A sticky is a very informative topic that you see at the top of the forum index page (on this site, they're highlighted in purple).  Just think of it ie a "Post-It" note.  It's a topic that everyone should definitely check out.  A topic is made a "sticky" by the moderators.

Thanks for all the links chevonee!  I can tell that took a lot of work and will take a long time to review all of them.  I have started recording some video lessons.  Someone on another site was asking about fingering of the F major scale.  I demonstrate how to do the fingering for C and F major scales, showing how to tuck the thumb/fingers under.  I hope this helps somebody: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0jutWiWGKY

Thanks for sharing!  Stay blessed!  :)

HI, everyone!  Just joined, and I know I've got a lot of learning ahead.  I've never played worship piano, and, I'm really only a good beginner; I can play pop tunes and know a good amount of chords, but worship piano is a "whole 'nother dog"!!  What would be the best way for me to actually get to playing?  I'd really like to get the theory part later; now, I'd just prefer to start learning to play.  Any suggestions??

Title: Re: Need suggestions
Post by: chevonee on March 12, 2008, 04:37:54 PM
HI, everyone!  Just joined, and I know I've got a lot of learning ahead.  I've never played worship piano, and, I'm really only a good beginner; I can play pop tunes and know a good amount of chords, but worship piano is a "whole 'nother dog"!!  What would be the best way for me to actually get to playing?  I'd really like to get the theory part later; now, I'd just prefer to start learning to play.  Any suggestions??

Welcome to the LGM family "sirzune"!! God bless you!!!

To tell ya the truth sirzune, the best way to learn how to play is through learning theory. Theory is what will teach you how to play in every key, how to play various progressions and everything else. For now, I would suggest learning your major scales and try watching the videos posted on here...they basically teach you all you need to know.

Here's some more material that will help...http://www.learngospelmusic.com/forums/index.php/topic,42768.0.html
