Title: The Problem Child!
Post by: yamahaboy on October 29, 2007, 08:24:25 AM
Next Month I will be ordering the Catalina Birch. I am getting it because of the sound and the Value, But for right now Im stuck with the Stage Custom Noveau 10x8, 12x9, 16x16, 22x17.

Its not a bad sounding kit but lately it has been sounding so nasty, and one of the Lugs from the bass drum broke off. I have G2's on it right now but I think its time for a change. I get a nasty tone out of the 16'', the 12" is barely producing any tone and the 10" is getting to the same point as the 12"and 16". What Head combos do you guys suggest to get maximum tone out of the kit!?

I was thinking about throwing some Emps. on the batter and Ambassadors on the Reso. But Im really stuck with the 16" because it seems like Im hitting a Trash Bag :-\ :'(. I want a head that is going to eliminate some of the over tones, what do you guys think about a Coated Emp? It seems like a better choice because its a warmer sounding head. ;)

Actually I had the EC2 on my kit for about 3 months and sound great. On my kit and at the church. But a lot people are sleeping on aquarian heads. they're also good too...
