I'm just saying though Funky... Those fanboys want to have a go at the Tony Royster Jr vs TP video but now that there's another vid they'll actually say that the drummers involved DO have different styles etc?
That's foolishness right there.

...i think Tony killed and, so did JoJo. i really wish we could get better sound quality on these vids. cuz honestly you couldn't hear the ghost notes and what not. cool find though. i wonder if theres an "official" video for this shindig!
-
Hey, I just got it off of the DW roster page:
ANTHONY P. ROYSTER, JR. | INDEPENDENT
Drums, Pedals and Hardware
It's no biggie, though. You know, I always wonder why there isn't an official video for stuff like this. It would be really cool to see and hear it in greater detail. Check your bag post, man!

I just had to dig this one back up, 'cuz I know that I'm right (drumworkshop):

People who actually understand what JoJo is doing, may feel him more. I mean, you respect that it took hours upon hours of practice to perfect what you see on this video and his DVD. You respect him for the fact that a lot of the techniques that he's mastered, you've given up on, for the time being/permanently, because of a lack of patience.
Shed-heads, non-drummers(for the most part, I think), & non-musicians would probably feel Tony more.
Tony brought a great deal more energy and showmanship, and JoJo is clearly the most skilled of the two. In my opinion, anyway...

yo they killed but hands down jojo is the man for those who think that tony is seeing jojo yall are very crazy . but jojo is on a different planet . if you are a real drummer you would definitely agree with me

I want to see JoJo and Chris Dave do something together. I think I would faint with Div putting white sheets on me and Sabianknight giving me water. LOL

What? I can't believe you would confess something like that.

I appreciate Chris Dave's approach, but I'm not deluded enough to think he's achieve JoJo's level of technical mastery...

Well, I didn't mean anything technical. I meant musically.

I know...
I guess I would prefer to see someone as musical AND as technical proficient as Jo Jo work with him. I don't want the gap in their technical ability to take away from the music...
...'cause as a seasoned musician, you will definitely notice those things, even if you don't want to.

I am in agreement.

Hey Div....sidenote for a sec......what mic' is good for a Grand Piano??
What is the mic to be used for? A recording? Is it something you'd be using on a regular basis? What's genre of music? Size of the room?
-
Regular basis, medium sized church, acoustic strings will be acompanying the Grand Piano (Violin)

Cardioid ...
Go to your nearest and tell them you're looking for a cardioid mic. That's a TYPE of mic, but I don't know your budget's, so I can suggest a specific brand.

True. I defininitely was feeling Jojo's technique more, all the lil stuff he was doin. Sometimes though, I forget how young TOny really is. A lot of the times I find myself forgettin that a lot of the people tat I compare him to are a lot older than him.
