There is a law of physics that states for every action is an opposite and equal reaction
if we adapt this law to understand why some of us can only play in one or two keys fluently
we will understand that it is because of our behavior and approach
what we have done and how we practice shape how we play and approach the instrument
those of you who can only play in a few keys fluently
probably do one or more of the following
use your transpose button to learn a song in a different key
use your transpose button when playing in church
use your transpose button when practicing at home
if you have to learn a song in one of your weak keys you transpose it to a strong key
have your teacher teach in your best keys
if you have to learn a modulation you pick your starting key so you start and end in a strong key
well if you use some simple physics to help you you may find your playing getting stronger and stronger
try doing the opposite of what you want and you will get an opposite reaction
try to learn songs in your weak keys
transpose your strong key moves into your weak keys
practice your progressions in your weak keys instead of your strong ones
set your modulations so you end on a weak key
if you start to do these opposite things you will find that you will start getting very different results in your playing
think about it doing what you want to do (the easy thing)
gives you the oppoite of what you truly desire (mastery of your instrument)
doing what you dont like (the tedious the difficult)
gives you ease in playing and performing
for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction

CO-SIGN all dat.
Remember, insane is doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result everytime. A lot of musicians are insane. Not crazy, but insane to think that they gonna play better w/out practice.

I hear you loud and clear diverse and believe me what you are saying is so right, but so very uncomfortable. I am learning to do what you are saying and I tell you what it is down right difficult. Everyone wants to just go to bed and wake up and be the best musician in the whole world but they don't realize that it takes a lot of blood, sweat, and tears so to speak. I just didnt see the need to learn every key until I came to LGM and saw that if you ever want to be worth anything you better know what you are doing in every key.....it's also important to learn theory. I am studying theory very extensively now and again, its frustrating at the beginning because it doesnt instantly pay dividens but in the long run you become the best that you can be. I desire to be the best and if you wanna be the best, you have to do what they did to get where they are. For whoever reads this please don't be intimidated or offended just listen to what these guys are saying they have already been where we are trying to go. Its tight but its right!!
