Just a little poll.
What song do you church/praise team/choir sing to open up the church service?
We sing "Enter In" by Joe Pace
South Bend, IN
-
well we don't have an "opening song" persae, but the very first song is the morning hymn, followed by whatever the P & W Team sings.
now back in the day (the 90's) when we used to march in ;) the 2 choirs that sang on 1st & 3rd Sunday did "Glad to be in the service" or "Oh Give Thanks" and the 2 choirs that sang on 2nd & 4th did "We've Come To Praise Him" or "How I Got Over".
-
It varies, the opening song is very informal at our church, usually one praise team member does it or the person that is doing the opening prayer may sing the song as well.
"We have come into this house"
"Lord you are welcome, in this place"
"I was glad when they said unto me"
Those are a few common selections.

We start with whatever song we have in our set for Praise and Woship...
We are very informal when it comes to the opening of our service.

On the first and Third sunday we do This is the day that the Lord has made.
On the 2nd and 4th sunday we do rejoice, whatever it takes, come and bless the Lord with me and we did one more sunny day.

Being the southern Baptist I am...its always something a lil older. Seems like for a while its been "What a Fellowship". Now I can't stop singing it.

This is the same with us. We will flow in the annointing. We do have set songs but they might change in a second according to the Spirit. Bishop Cole

It varies, but we always try to start with a good strong song, like" Hosana","How Great we exhault thee(not sure on title)", Lord do It, etc,etc....
we just to be strong as to move the congregation from the start at 8am service, the praise team sings before 11 service.

The adult choir that I am in goes with the flow, and the youth choir sings stuff like come let us adore him by Norman Hutchinson, Sometimes we do congregational songs, or we will sing behind the MC of the morning service which is usually my father.

we sing JESUS IS ALIVE
-
We do different things, sometimes the choir opens up and sometimes its the praise team:
Praise TeamWelcome Into This Place
Fred Hammond-Nobody Like You (
Fred Hammond-This Is The Day
Judith McCalister-I Live To Worship You
Judith-Bless the Lord O My Soul (He's Worthy)>>>THis is really good to get the church 'poppin' lol
Martha Munizzi-God IS Here
Choir
This Praise I have-Clay Evans
This Is The Day
Glad To Be In The Service
Kurt Carr-Reign
Hez Walker-Lift Him Up
That all I Can Think of. It just depends, usually it's an upbeat song and when praise and Worship Starts they slow it down, then the choir sings during offering and before the preacher. Just whatever we rehearse. Basically the opening song usually set's the mood for our worship service.
