Title: YOUNG M.O.M (15 years old)
Post by: rut on December 17, 2006, 05:16:00 PM
what are some adivice that you can give to your minister of music.

My thing I get tierd of saints of god, come in the house of god and say look at that M.O.M he so young, look what he is doing.

Saints should forget about age an concentrate on God instead of my age.

Perhaps they're amazed about what God is doing through your ministry?

Perhaps, YOU shouldn't worry about them worrying about your age and concentrate on God?  ;)

wonderful reply Jonathan !   Hey young M.O.M......Saints commenting on your age should be used as motivation; look at where God has put you at "your age".....Your in a position where most grown folks can't even compete......Who wouldn't be blown away?
What if you were to visit a church; where they had an 8yr old M.O.M....Wouldn't that blow your mind?......yep, I know it would.
There is no difference bruh.  Look thru the bible and see all the young folks God has used to complete his plan and purpose.....a little boy; a king of mighty nation?.......A leader in battle?.....the list goes on.

Know it not...you are a trend setter.....How many young people your age; can you find, even going to church?......Not too many bruh.

"You" keep doin the right thing; and God will bless you accordingly.

1Tim. 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

The best advice I would give is to expand your horizons and always be prepared.

I CAN UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM BECAUSE I'M 15 ALSO. BUT I DON'T LET ANYONE ESPECIALLY CHURCH FOLKS DISCOURAGE ME. :D GOD HAS THE POWER TO DO ALL THNGS BUT FAIL AND THAT INCLUDES USING YOUNG PEOPLE.

LOOK AT JEREMIAH, WHEN GOD FIRST CALLED HIM TO BE A PROPHET, JEREMIAH SAID THAT HE WAS TOO YOUNG. YET, HE NEVER STOPPED WITH THE MINISTRY AND THE CALLING THAT GOD HAS PLACED ONTO HIS LIFE.

ALSO, NEVER FORGET THAT WE ARE A CHOSEN GENERATION AND A PECULIAR PEOPLE. PECULIAR MEANS ONE OF A KIND OR UNIQUE.  ;D

                                     :)STAY ENCOUARAGED BRO! :)

Hey young MoM...

The only advice I can share with you is do your best to expand your knowledge of music beyond your years. I was born and raised Missionary Baptist and when I started playing for my first church I was only 12 on the piano. Know that people will despise you for your youth like the scripture quoted earlier says but don't let that discourage you.

Do your part and for every Tye Tribbett song you lead or teach, make sure you learn some old school stuff also. Believe me, if you want to get respect from the older folks break out with one of them old hymns that they barely even know like Great is Thy Faithfullness or I Have Decided to Follow Jesus... and you will EARN their respect.

Don't go out and try to dress older, talk older or even act older but know that for every one person wishing you fail there are several others who want you to succeed. Enjoy your youth bruh because you won't be young forever, the next thing you know you'll be sharing with a young cat like I'm sharing with you. I'm 31 now by the way...

Be blessed,

MrSparrow

I really understand where you're coming from, because I started playin at the age around 10-13 somewhere around there and alot of people at the church didnt recieve me then i turned around at the age of 16 and did my initial sermon! Now i'm 17 and i'm still not being recieved! You hang on in there and let the will of GOD BE FULFILLED IN YOUR LIFE!!!

All i can say is be encouraged I have served as a minister of music when i was your age and it was very tough until one of the fellow musicians who took me under her wing bluntly told me. "If it wasnt to be...God wouldnt have place you here...remember that you were predestined, called, glorified and justified to do this very work." Remember that your primary role as minister of music is to prepare God's  people for worship. They should understand that if you were not qualified for the position you wouldn't have been placed there. This last thing im gonna leave you with and I hope it helps. One thing you have to remember when your choir members enter the choir loft you have to maintain control, you have to take reign. HOwever let everything you do let it be for the kingdom of God.

I know its not easy for you to go through this believe me I've been there. Just know that God wouldnt bring you to it...if he couldnt bring you through it! Keep your head up!

I am very amazed at the fact that you are 15 yrs old and minister of music, I wished I had this oppurtunity especially seeing other music ministries struggle.  DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHAT OTHERS SAY.   People are going to run their mouths whether you make a move or not.  I know that you will do good in this endeavor and be encouraged.

Well, I'm 15 also, all I gotta say is don't concentrate on the people, concentrate on God. And I think the scripture reads something along the lines of if not exactly..."Cast all your cares upon him, for He cares for you."

May the Good God continue to bless you!!!

Don't get tired of people saying things about your music, this is something they can't do.Did you know  that they could be complimenting you on a good job that you do? If you are going to church and they are in church their adatute should'nt be nasty. They should be praising GOD with you not against you. You are in church praising  GOD with a talent that HE blessed you with, be proud hold your head up  high and play for God. Out of all the letters that you got noone told you to pray, if they  did and if you did you would'nt have nothing but love for them, which they should have for you.Pray before you play, pray while you play. Because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. If they say something nagative say praise God from whom all blessing  come. Which would be your music. Be strong and of good courage.  BREATH OF LIFE
