It was kinda hard cuz usually I just play and not really give much thought on what fingers I use. For this one I just played a chord naturally, then looked at what fingers I used. I really do hope everybody is finding this helpful. I sure wish someone had a post like this when I was a beginner.

I've been offline for about a week, and then return to be blessed like. May GOD continue to add blessing to your ministry, and your house.

Like I said at the beginning, these are the fingerings that I use personally. If u can use them, great. If you come up with your own, that's great too. Any questions feel free to ask me.
What's the best way to memorize the different keys: It's a lot & it gets discouraging - Is their a fun way & exciting way to learn each one by putting it to use with a gopel song that consist of each key, but not hard song starting off - just something to help us, beginners get familar with each key. Thanks a lot for the post of keys. Be Blessed

The best way to get familiar with these is to go through each one and practice it until it becomes second nature. Once you get familiar with it, you will notice that your fingers will automatically start moving where they need to go.
Another way is to practice those progressions in every key using these fingerings. So, just put this post together along with the posts I did on basic and more advanced progressions and you should see a difference in a short period of time.

What about people with small hands :-)

YES!!!
what about 9, 11, 13ths......
You can learn them as you go, but it really isn't that necessary cuz 9th's, 11th's and 13th's all come from those first 5 basic chords. As long as you get the basics down, then you have a good foundation. You can play almost every song with basic chords, trust me.
What about people with small hands :-)
Split the chord up and use 2 hands to play them. Also, I found that if you practicing stretching your fingers for those big chords, in time your fingers will grow and it will become easier to play them. I don't know how it happens, but it just happens all of a sudden.

Thanks T-Block.
I'll try!

T...You've been helping me for a while. It's been a while since I've been on here, but you put these chord progressions up a few months ago and I really bless God for you because though I am taking lessons (or was taking lessons) I now have something VISUAL to look at. Thanks so much and may God bless your endeavors.

Thanks T,i'm going to pass this on to one of our musicians at church who's a beginner with the keys.

Thank you very much for this post. I have had my keyboard for 1.5 yrs and have always had a musician at church. I'm stationed in South Korea and our musician is leaving in 2 months so I need all the help and prayer that I can get. I don't know how to read music either. So far I have put little pieces of paper on my key so that I know what they are. Please don't laugh. ;D. I'm willing to learn and I am teachable.

Does this same deal apply to sus4, 7, M7, and m7? While practicing some of the basics, I've found a nice sound when I experiment with these other chord versions. They seem much easier to learn than 9th's, 11th's, and 13th's.

Yes, the same goes for those chords as well.

Thanks for the explation. That was very great.
But i have just one question:
what are the fingering for progression:I think it is not a good idea always using the root chord. For example
A "2,5,1 progression or a "3,6,2,5,1.
I was told that one should make the shortest movement possible with the fingers from one chord to the next.
hence my wanting to know finger movement in progressions.
Thanks!

Thank you i think this is going to be of some help.

Great work T-Block, thank you. I haven't played keys in public in 20 years or so. This is a blessing!

Question here for T-Block
It's been years since this post I am just asking do you still use the fingering for all listed here every time you play or with your hands accustomed to all types of fingering (muscle memory and finger stretch) have you tweaked some chord fingering since then.
Thanks.

For the most part, I still use these same fingerings all the time. I can switch up when I need to though. My fingers do what I tell them to, lol. ;) :D
