Kenneth Morris introduced the Hammond organ to Chicago and to the world. He was the first organist for First Church of Deliverance.
At first there was a lot of criticism from the old-line musicians that it was jazz. It was bringning the devil's instrument into the church. Some of the old-line musicians didn't want organs in the church. They didn't want pianos in the church. They didn't want gospel music, period.
