Urgent Drumkit Advice
« on: June 18, 2014, 07:46:12 PM »
I need to buy a gospel kit around a grand within the next couple of days. Could you all PLEASE recommend some? I haven't been hip to non-jazz orientated kits for YEARS, and a lot has changed. I'm thinking maple, but can be convinced to buy birch if anyone has any strong arguments. I've been leaning towards Pearl Session customs because I played them years ago and dug them, but I'm also looking at Gretsch Catalina and Renown, but I'm reluctant about them because I think 45 degree edges would be better.

I would REALLY appreciate some feedback/recommendations.

Thanks--God bless!

Okay,  I'm between a Mapex Meridian and a Pearl Session:

OKay, the budget went up, so I can do either a Gretsch Renown, Tama Birch/Bubinga, or a Pearl Masters MCX. Any thoughts?

To be honest, they same to me...so it could be me. I am not as knowledgeable when it comes to the sound/tune...If I was in your situation, I would be looking a price and color..LOL
