I use a korg tritonEX for church. The organs are good. The knobs work really great.

Do you know how much your church paid for the board?

The pastor bought it like a year ago. It cost between $2000 and $2500. He gets a discount in the music store. It's a 61-note by the way.

If you want a korg try the TR-series. The 61-note is $1000+. That's on sweetwater.com. I'm not sure how much it might cost in Guitar Center or Sam Ash.

Hey B3 check out the organ sounds that i posted, and give me your opinion on them.

Just listened to them....

They sound pretty good, but you can tell the difference. The Electro, Roland, Triton Extreme does a better job. Really. Listen to the Electro's mp3s. You can tell the difference. This is with the built-in leslie effect. Almost ALL of them will sound really close, if you use an external leslie. Even the organ on my KME-61 sounds good, when I use my Pro3 speaker, and you can't adjust the drawbars on that thing! The Triton Extreme has a plus, because it has a built-in tube preamp, but the preamp just covers up a borderline replication of the organ sound. If the underlying sound was better, then that would be a better organ clone.

The K2600 is a good keyboard, but it doesn't do well with the organ sound either. Its selling point is that it has a built-in sequencer and can play sounds from other keyboards.

Electro demo page: http://www.clavia.se/downloads/mp3/index.htm#ne2

Really, if you listen to those sounds, not many other keyboards can compare on the same features, within its price range. You'd have to go into the $2,500+ range to get sounds as good as these. The red color just shows how funky this keyboard is. Not to mention it's the lightest keyboard out of all of them! 13lbs for 61 notes, 20-something for 73!

There are some good ones, but honestly just get a real organ; a good one. A keyboard and a lot of newer B3's don't have a real authentic sound. They don't have the scream or the pitch right. If you have a good keyboard already, then just get an organ.
