A couple days ago I pulled the trigger on a Bad Cat Cougar 5 watt Class-A all tube combo amp.
Musician's Friend was running a 'secret sale' on it (sale price doesn't show until you "add to cart") and I did a lot of reading reviews and listening to demos before I purchased.
After I did a little research, the choice to buy was a no-brainer.
btw: The Cougar line are made in China and they have a circuit board instead of point-to-point construction, but everything else is top notch: great tubes (JJ's?), big caps, big transformers, good speaker, plywood enclosure. The amp circuit and all of the features were designed by the Bad Cat guys in Cali, so it's a legit amp licensed by BC.
I've wanted a Bad Cat for years, but they are stupid expensive. Like, $2500 for the Hot Cat 15 that I want...but the sound is just amazing and perfect for studio and stage gigs.
Should arrive Monday.
