Thanks.

I actually got more sleep last night than I have in over a month - AND I slept during the night which is really a blessing. Fell asleep around 2 and woke up about 6:15. I'm grateful.

I been meaning to put my two cents into this convo so here it goes.
People around here will vote for Mitt Romney simply because they want a quick fix. They don't think Obama is moving fast enough, so they'll assume that Romney will.

Christians around here could care less if Romney is a Mormon or a Buddhist, they just want things to change instantly and anyone with common sense knows that will never happen.

When someone mentions the mess the Bush Administration left behind, people don't want to hear it. But there is no way that you can fairly evaluate Obama's Administration without factoring in the mess he inherited.  :-\

That's the ironic thing - there wouldn't be instant change. The best Conservatives can hope for is to delay change through gumming up the works in Congress, like they have already been doing. Any laws a Romney Admin. would try to pass would be blocked by the Dems...it would take a GOP-controlled House and Senate to push anything through...

It is indeed ironic but that's just the way people here are. They don't have patience with anyone. I always thought that white people were tougher on Obama than black people but that's not the case here at all. Black people here expected him to cater to their every wish and forget all about white people. That kind of ignorance is why people in this city don't have much to show for their lives, they expect microwave popcorn success.

True.. and I still think that voting your values across the board is foolish.. That is how Bush got a second term.. Carl Rove targeted Christians of color and it worked.. but what changed? We have more states with gay marriage now than we did in 1999. Many of us "voted our values" and our patriotism.. (after all we were attacked... ) and we almost got a depression and record job losses with record corporate profits (go figure..) .. This issue does not belong in national politics. It is a state issue. The same should be noted for same sex marriage.

I didn't know Romney use to be a pastor of a church of the l... ( forget what they are called) the mormons

One story even makes note of Romney's time as a pastor of a Massachusetts ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – a period once all but off limits for Romney, who rarely spoke of his Mormon religion in the early months of the campaign.
