Bass4God,you don't need your bass to practice ear training. You can sing your interval shapes, you can sing the progressions we're working on, you can listen to the radio and see if you can recognize the progressions that we work on,have fun with it

This is not a bass lesson just a short video that i made about two years ago!... I could make this a lesson, i could ask you to describe what you hear me playing...a scale pattern,a blues pattern,rock pattern a 1 going to the 6 progression,  a 1 going to the b5 progression etc... 

Sound like your going from the 1 to the 4 on this one and i also hear the 2-5-1

Yeah I do, however because I am new to this learning experience it seems to be hit and miss, a few songs I picked up on the progression right away. Then there are others I seem to struggle with. Hopefully it will get better over time.

POP QUIZ!!  , just two questions. This song has two sets of progressions that we're working on. Question #1 listen closely and name the progressions. DON'T USE YOUR BASS, USE YOUR EARS! The song has two parts to it, the verse and the chorus they both have the same progressions they just change keys. Question #2 what's the interval shape of the key change? where does it go, to the 4,5,b5 etc... sing the intervals and tell me what's the number it goes to.

Listen closely to the piano in the verse, you can hear the progressions ( numbers) very clearly... That's the whole song, you should be able to play this whole song in your head by numbers before you pickup your bass.

When learning a song you want to listen to the keyboard/organ/piano player for your progressions and listen to the drummer for the groove.

I'm asking you to name the progressions and name the key change. The verse starts on the "1" then on the chorus it changes to the what?   the verse and the chorus share the same progression but in a different key... I hope that make sense

Man this one is right in my face. 1-7-6-2-5-1 and I didn't pickup  my Jezebel. on the key change I would say the interval shape is a 4th when i get home I'll pick up my Jezebel and play this song and see if  i'm right. And "Jezebel" that's the name i call my bass, because she so seductive

I hear 1-7-6 in several keys.  After he plays the 1-7-6, he plays a 6-7. ( 1-7-6---6-7-1-7-6)

From the choices that you gave i can hear the (1-7-6 ) and (2-5-1) and when it change's keys i can still hear the (1-7-6) and (2-5-1) but in a different key.
