How does every LGM thread turn into racism or drinking? :D :D :D
When you're in love you don't want to fall asleep bc reality is finally better than your dreams.

That's too funny, and reminds of the 'Good Times' episode.  :D
Despite our communication technology, no invention is as effective as the sound of the human voice.

@Getting drunk off coffee: Sugar+Milk equals alcohol in your stomach. 'Tis why kids who always eat sugary milky stuff get beer guts, and eating too much ice cream late at night gives you a hang-over in the morning.

Do you see that Britt? :D

@The original topic: Hey, did you guys know that Benjamin Jacob Grimm (aka The Thing) is the only Marvel character to die and be resurrected by the one-and-only capital-g God? Like, out of all the ways for a comic character to die and comeback (not really dead, superman punches the air so hard it warps reality, multiple universes colliding, Lazarus pools, clones, intervention by demi-gods and Celestials etc. etc. ad nauseam) Ben's the only one who's actually been raised back up by The Almighty Himself.

So interesting. He's also an expy of Jack Kirby, and Jewish (like Jack Kirby).

You know your Marvel..  :o  ;D

to the OT ... I don't think so.. I think they are more in line with classic storytelling... The Avengers could just as well be the Seven Samurai ..

...or the oil drillers in ARMAGEDDON...bunch of misfits individually, who function as a team for a good cause.

BTW, finally saw the Avengers (good mindless summer movie), and IMO the Hulk had the right attitude toward all this when pummeling the evil Loki - muttering "puny god"   :P

Donald Lawrence made a song "My Superman".  I liked it quite a bit.
