counting a 7/8 groove

One of the drummers is working on a tune  and I think this is what he is trying to play.It seems like an expansion of Brubecks' Take 5.

I count it 123   1234 with the bass drum hits on 1 and 1234. I guess you could call it 123 4567 with the bass drum on 1,4,5,6 ,7.Any help on a couple measure of what's going on?

As a keys player-this is a bit of a stretch-but it has the basis of a nice P W groove.

thaks

I found a chart from the Chi tune and it's in 7/4-sort of a latin feel?

Gospel Artist/Pastor Jonathan Dunn has a song on his latest project entitled "7/8 Praise" & it's pretty tight.
