Topic: What are things that every man should know how to do? (Read 4345 times)

This could be a good thing if we all started teaching the young men in groups to do this. Also would be good if parents who are not doing this start even if the female doesnt want all that it is a good example. Hey things could change if we all started. CAD!

What the others said above.
Change a tire.
Cook.
Clean.
Wash clothes.
Basic car troubleshooting.

You have to have a lot of experience to do that, MM. Otherwise, after about 2-3 ironings, you'll get the shine, even if you do them inside out or with a sheet. For inexperienced guys, I'd say go to the dry cleaners. But you're right, I should've said 'know how to iron a shirt AND your black pants.'

Sadly, in lots of churches and homes, nobody is teaching men how to BE men. More importantly, nobody is showing them! So not only do I want to teach the young men these things (thank you again to everyone who is contributing!), but I want to encourage all the men the be a good example.

Very true. Being a man goes far beyond doing manly tasks.

Oh. This isn't really something "every man should know how to do" but I do believe every man should know what the Bible says about his role as a man and as a husband. A list of scriptures along with a discussion might be helpful.

Moisturizer sounds so feminine to me. Lotion is a decent male term lol.

Alot of mine are old fashioned and you dont HAVE to really know, but it gets you points when you do. Tie a tie has been spoken, but I like to add shine shoes. Women LOVE a man with well cared for dress shoes. Even before I joined the army I knew how to shine shoes. Its a lost art almost, because most ppl dont get true dress shoes. Water, kiwi, and an old t shirt or cloth. Oh, and some elbow grease.

Heres one for free. Carry a spare clean hankerchief. Yeah, you may never use it, but your cool/swag points multiply if a woman or child sheds some tears or maybe gets a bruise or something that needs tending. Then you just let them have it. Trust me on this one.

They should know how to conduct themselves based on the relationship in which they are engaged. For example, how you act around your boys is not how you act around your boss or around your girlfriend/wife. Know how to code switch.
