WHAT IS THIS!
« on: September 16, 2011, 03:26:07 PM »
So i'm cruising around listening to the 4-5-6 WHEN I HEAR THIS!
Just Messin' in D flat (4-5-6 Chord Progression) Vocal Riff Practice

It was going good till I got to the part! 0:29-0:32
And i see this chord!

A/A-C-Eb-Gb! Is there like a technical name for that because that was way to sexy for kids to hear!

It's an A diminished 7 chord. With an F in the bass it becomes an F7 flat 9 chord. Both are used often as passing chords to Bb minor.

In the key of Db, A would be either a #5 or a b6, depending on the resolution chord.

You can use it exactly how the guy used it in the video. If you are playing a song that goes to 6 at some point, u can throw that chord in there.

Sounds like a baroque progression.

You can also use it from the 2 to the 5. I use it in 95% of the songs I play.
