just bought some zildjian 14" k custom hybrid hats
not sure if i wanna keep it tho...
there kinda expensive lol...
i just want something thats gonna last at my church..
church is kinda big and i dont use mics so i gotta hit that sucker
i had 14" zildjian z custom master sound hats...top one cracked :[ sounds like garbage now...

opinions on choice? love the way they sound...but idk if there gonna be good for the long run
You may want to step up to the 15" or 16' hi-hats... I recommend the Sabian 15" Groove Hats or Paiste 15" Giant Beats.
In the 14" size range something with medium top and heavy to extra-heavy bottom such as the Sabian HH or AA or AAX or HHX Fusion Hi-Hats.
The cheapest resolution is to invest in a pair of cheap overhead mics such as the Audix Fusion f15 or MXL by Marshall. They should cost you about $100-150. Place one over your hi-hat shoulder and the other over your ride shoulder and that will give you the volume and cymbal clarity you eed. Itwill pick up the drums as well... that way you don't have to hit so hard and damage your/ministry gear.
