Whats up family. I was sitting here thinking of a way to help our fellow musicians. To help them expand they chord vocabulary. So I came up with this, Lets post our favorite or nice chord on each tone or scale degree.

We will start on the 1

i play any type of major 7th, major 9th, or add9 chord on the 1. the inversion usually differs depending on the root. (hey, im a bass player, i try)
it would be either
F/F-G-A-C   Fadd9
F/A-C-E      FMaj7
F/A-C-E-G  FMaj9

F / Eb-G-Bb-D  *EbM9/F

and

F / Eb-G-B-D  *EbM9#5/F

or

F / Eb-G-A-D  *F13

T-Block, you resolve off of these dominant chords? Most songs i play only go to the 1 to resolve, so using the dominants on the 1 leave me hanging.

Depending on where I'm going and what the music calls for, here are some of my faves...

If "churchy" then an open F13 with the tonic on topic so F-D-Eb / Eb-A-D-F...the second 13the in the left hand is optional based on organ vs keys or what sound I use.

If going to a major or minor 4 chord, or ending a super contemporary song then I love:  F-Eb-F# / A-C-F because its still on the tonic, but a totally different color.

If church and going to 4 chord, then I go augmented too, so F-Eb / A-C#-F, sometimes I alternate that Eb for E too in the left hand.

Also a sound used in my area a ton for churchy (i reference it to Thelonius Monk) but is the flatted fifth...can't do it at every church, but I love it. Its F-Eb / ABDG...may sound weird at first, but my ears dig it. I sub it for the ending of a phrase and a straight tonic...its essentially an F7 chord with a G maj chorde on top.

Yeah, I do resolve these chords, most of the time, lol. Most times, when I use those particular chords in succession, it's because I'm using 1 as a pedal tone in the bass, and just playing a string of chords and runs on top of it. I do the same type of pedal tone/chording on 2, 4, and 6 as well. This technique can be used to give you a nice worship feel.
