I missed it, but I remember watching Prince Charles and Lady Di's wedding.

Now I did watch that wedding. Mainly because I was still a child and didn't have a choice.

I will not be "getting down" with the kissing at my wedding. No way! LOL! For some reason that's the only part of my wedding I think about lol. Like do I REALLY have to kiss like that in front of everybody. Lol.

I can't blame you. I didn't get all down and dirty at my wedding but you definitely knew we kissed at our wedding. Maybe I need to take classes on DIGNI-FI-CATION (int) :-\ Nah not hardly.... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Direct quote from Doubles: Who cares about the wedding day? When you have a 25th wedding anniversary showing that you made it through "LIFE AFTER THE WEDDING DAY" then and only then will a brotha celebrate and pay attention.

I like that. These days, weddings are a dime a dozen. 10th, 25th, 50th anniversaries?... HA!!!
When you're in love you don't want to fall asleep bc reality is finally better than your dreams.

I agree. Speaking of which, my parents 43rd anniversary was yesterday :) Those ole buzzards are still hanging in there LOL! It's truly a blessing though and very encouraging.

My grandma and grandfather have been together for 63 years!! The thing about it is grandma's been saved for almost 30 plus years and grandpa just got saved a few years ago. He was a rowdy ole coot but grandma hung in there with him and now she reaping the fruits of her labor....As Rue would say TGBTG!! fa'real!

Didn't stay up overnight - watched the rebroadcast this morning.
Enjoyed the Classical music - the choir anthems and orchestral arrangements of the hymns were excellent! The only thing was that the King's choir had no women - just boys and men.

And the profusion of hats - they would not be out of place at a Gospel event! Some made Aretha's seem mild in comparison...

I did not watch, but I did  check out a few articles to see what people wore. The hats reminded me of my grandmother and her sister. They used to really dress to the hilt for ANY occasion, and the two of them would have fit in nicely at that wedding. They both taught me something about class, dignity, and self-worth that I cherish today.  I did watch Charles and Diana, and well we know how that one turned out.

I am with Doubles on this too: "Who cares about the wedding day? When you have a 25th wedding anniversary showing that you made it through "LIFE AFTER THE WEDDING DAY" then and only then will a brotha celebrate and pay attention." I will be up with the chickens then to watch.

This brings me to another question; why don't we go all out for significant wedding anniversary celebrations? I mean roll out the red carpet and really celebrate when  a couple makes it to 25, 30, 40, 50+ years! Bring on the pomp and circumstance then! I plan to have an awesome celebration when DH and I reach our 25th wedding anniversary, and I am saving now for it. I mean a real BIG soiree!!

I don't know about anywhere else but around here people renew their wedding vows after 20 or 25 years. I mean they go ALLLLLLLL OUT!! They get dresses with a trains that go from here to Halifax, Nova Scotia  :D :D :D :D :D They get limo's a wedding party wit 150,000 people....it's pretty out there. When my husband and I reach that plateau we gone SHOUT and then visit a place called 3:17 :P :P :P :P

Chevonnee: Maybe the lack of pomp is unique to my area. In any case we will be having some serious pomp and circumstance! LOL @ the tiny print.

I just saw some highlights here and there.  It is what it is, I guess, but I'm fairly indifferent to it.  As with any couple, I do wish  them the best, but I wasn't really interested.
