« on: November 17, 2010, 08:03:26 PM »
Could someone put me in contact with him/her? My C3/142 at home starts but doesn't run.

Does the motor in C3 turn? grind?

2 simple checks-the fuse in the leslie;organ OFF!!!!!  pull the fuse/replace with the SAME size/amps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 12 BH7 in the preamp(usually in the little holder) ;repeat same as above!!!!!!!

thanks, it was oiled about 3 months ago. I believe it is the run motor that failed, unfortunately the guy that used to rewind them died not too long ago. I will recheck fuses once again, I didn't check in the Leslie though. I really wish I could learn how to work on these things, there are a billion churches in my area and the only person that fixes Hammond organs is retired from the business well aged and is starting to forget things.

No, I haven't figured it out yet, truthfully I haven't even fooled with it any longer. I moved it to the garage, I am remodeling my music room (paint, hardwood floors, base boards etc etc). So once all of that is completed I will move the organ in and figure it out. I have found several manuals that break down how to fix them. I have no clue why technicians charge so much to work on Hammonds, after closely reviewing the internals of my C-3 it is truly 1950's technology, it isn't hard to figure out or work on at all. So I will be fixing mine myself. I'm also on vacation, so that adds another delay.

I'm having a problem my organ will not start up. The light under neath will come on but it won't start up. I think its my starter motor. Any tips or suggestions on how to figure it out?

same as above;check fuse in your Leslie-organ OFF;look @ the fuse;if okay-put it back in.Does the organ motor turn? might be the switch;if you were not gettoing any grind etc.. before.
