Last Night!
« on: December 23, 2007, 11:41:28 PM »
Rex, Cal, and Ted did a TREMENDOUS job performing and teaching. In that order. A very winded (after performing a couple of songs) Rex, showed his comedic skills. An emotional Calvin of course gave everyone flabergastation with his very defined skills. The night was for Teddy, a coming home welcome from everyone, he taught, scolded and held a q&a forum as well as treated us to a solo drum performance and brought along an awesome keyboard and bass player, oh and he gave away stuff. A very eventful and enlighting night. Kudos to the sound engineer(s), wow the three drum kits sounded good 1 DW 2 Yamahas although Cal and Ted say they are trying to get rex to crossover. I was disappointed to learn that we could not video record or take pics I believe they are going to put it on DVD from what I gathered. It was held at the Church Rex's mom Pastors. Of course alot of well Known Chicago musicians were in the house Keith Harris, Jeral(scooter)Gray Jr, Varro and more. If you were not there well I'm sure you know what you missed.

Man the weather was "said" to be bad and my travel partner flaked out on me.  That church is on the south side of Chicago.  You dont go to the south side by yourself "looking" for a church!   :D  Getting lost on the south side or west side of chicago is "traditionally" a bad idea.

No need to have worried, you would have been covered by the BLOOD of JESUS. besides, it was held on a pretty decent side of town on a very busy street.

Rex killed it on the drum programming. I can't get those beats out my head haha. Overall I think Cal had the best performance... his jazz licks were krazy! i don't think i've ever stood up and sat down that much in my life lol. i really enjoyed teddy's performance too that bass player and cordell i think thatz his name was killin too. Itz good to see these guys still giving back.
