Cow tongue, Cow brain, of course...chitterlings, racoon, squirrel, gator tail and bear. Out of all those...the Cow tongue and brain has to be the wierdest. It wasn't the nastiest. The nastiest was the gator tail. EH!

What? Don't look at me like that! >:(

Now, I can't make myself eat those. I had the opportunity to eat some on a cruise and I just couldn't. My brother and his wife ordered a second round. Ewww.

I'm finicky and very close-minded when it comes to food.  My version of "bizarre food" is eggplant, ackee, breadfruit, and lamb.

Of course, I grew up Black, in a family with southern roots, so I did eat chit'lins (also known as chitterlings), pig feet, chicken feet soup, neckbone, turkey necks, whole fish, and that's about as "bizarre" as I will go. LOL

What IS bizarre to me is eating anything that I attended the slaughter of just hours earlier.

I watch it quite a bit.  I was laughing at him last week because Cambodia shut him DOWN!!!!!!!!  He was spitting out food left and right.  He's still uber-gross to me.  I think the show where he went to Morocco or Saudi Arabia made me turn the channel.

As for the strangest thing I've ever eaten, I'd have to say that sashimi(raw seafood) is as far as I've went.  Haven't had any in a while, but I can handle it.  I always swore that I would never eat calamari(squid), or eel.  I tried both a few years ago and now I absolutely LOVE them.  Eel actually tastes just like catfish, because if you look at it closely it's really just an extra long catfish which it is related to, as an eel is actually a fish anyway.

Oh, and I just can't do the "country" stuff, but my father can do it all day long.  I just got into eating neckbones.  Those joints are pretty tasty.

I can't do the raw seafood. And some seafood like Eel, Octopus and calamari gives me chills just thinking about them.

I'm telling you, if you like catfish, then you will love eel.  Technically it's the same animal.  Try some fried calamari and you will be hooked.  It's a very light flavor.  Most of the taste comes from the breading.  Go buy you some at Kroger or Wal-Mart and pop 'em in the oven.  You'll be eating it at least once or twice a month.  Thought about trying octopus, but that's one I don't think I'll ever do.  EVER!!!!!

My moms makes pretty good neckbones.  They're extremely tender.

I almost forgot.....the most exotic thing I've eaten is caviar, and salmon roe.  It's been a few years since I've had some, but I look forward to the next time I do get to enjoy some.

Please! Please! Can I post? Can I post? Please?

Bah. I'm posting anyway.

#1 - Bundaegi: Roasted Silkworm Larvae. Yes, they're bugs, but they taste like peanuts.

#2 - Sanjiguk/Haejangguk: Cow's Blood Soup. That thing that looks like poo is actually coagulated cow's blood. Mmmm. Yummy. My friend and I tricked my wife into eating it. :) ;D

I've also had bison, squid, octopus, cuttlefish, and flounder (it just looks weird). I've eaten raw seafood too. I think it's actually better raw.

I wanted to try kaegogi, while I was in Korea; but I never got around to it. I'll try it one day.

While we're kuntree, we're going to try some squirrel, opossum, raccoon, deer, etc. I'm going to shoot and slaughter the smaller animals myself.

Oh, and while it's not really "weird", it was the only thing that I couldn't really eat: Bitter Cola. This is a....treat, I guess....that Nigerians eat. When I say "bitter", I really mean bitter! A church member gave me a handful. I ate two, maybe.

Snails. And they are delicious. I had them on a cruise. In pesto sauce. They looked like mushrooms.
