Office/ Word 4-7

Some of my friends have upgraded from word 04'-07',is this a good upgrade? I thought I've seen folks that didn't like this.It seems like there is a issue that if you do a document in 07' and send it to someone with 04';it won't print.

Or is there a way to bypass? I have word 04' on my Mac-which I only use to print stuff once in a while.Stuff I get done in 07' show s up good,just won't print even if I save it,then try to print that way-or any way.

ideas? thanks

Office 2004? I never heard of Office 2004. Do you mean 2003?

There are a lot of features that will not translate between Office 2003 and 2007.
As an aside, I HATE 2007, hate it, hate it, hate it!

Here's all I can offer......lol!

When you are sending a document from 07 to someone with 04 the best thing do is go to "file", "save as" then go to the bottom and it will show options on file extension. In 07 is docx, so go down and change it to 04/03 doc or I think you can keep in 07 doc. The bottom line is that "doc" makes it able to send to people in other formats while docx is more generall for 07.

Hope that helps a little. 07 is great! I love it personally!

I hate the new ribbon thing that Microsoft included. I am a heavy Excel user and I had all the keyboard shortcuts and such memorized. This new ribbon throws everything away and makes me memorize a whole new set of keyboard shortcuts.

also, you can set the default to save in Word 2003 format, so you wont have to change the format everytime you save a file.

Its ok, I resisted, like my man Fenix, but when I got it for free, I didnt refuse. Theres alot of things that are normal defaults that I find annoying in this version, but since you can save your own default settings, Ive changed them, and now its sooooo much better.

I really wish Microsoft had included an option for "classic" view.

But then again it would probably have made it more expensive.

yo guys,tried what you suggested cr,saw the menus and tried it-but it still won't print.What I had been getting was in the 03'format which worked good;guess 04 might have been an upgrade,mine says "teachers 04".

My wife tried sending me something from 07 +03(which had been working (03') but now is not.

this is the only print issue I have;maybe time to Google? blog?
