Pharrell gives the Lord some praise......
« on: May 26, 2010, 10:24:19 PM »
This is a remix from his solo CD that came out about 4 years ago.  Even though most of it is your typical R&B with a parental advisory sticker included(as with many secular artists who include a "gospel-esque" song on their project), this song is nice, and I think well-written and to the point.  I give him credit for taking the time to write and record it and release it as a thank you to God because he didn't have to do it and he is acknowledging his Lord and Saviour.

Pharrell & The Yessirs - 14: Our Father .. FULL ALBUM

So what do you all think after listening to it?

Yeah, B3. I've been trying to figure out what he's saying since I heard the original.  If anyone finds out, please chime in.

He's saying "Jesus is my daddy.  I'm tellin' you"

I remember back in the late 90's-early 2000's when just about every song on the radio had a Neptunes beat. Pharrell had the game on lock.

He's saying "Jesus is my daddy.  I'm tellin' you"

Oh, thank you. That clears it up for me.

The original project was called In My Mind, then he did an entire remix project called Out Of My Mind which was produced by ?uestlove of The Roots and features live instrumentation by James Poyser on keys, ?uest on drums, and a ridiculously funky bass player named Adam Blackstone.  The label would not release the remix project after it was done hence the present dilemma which you face.
