I was going to say the article seems to imply that Floyd is duckin' The Pacman.

sjon, c'mon playa.

IS!

It just seems Floyd doesn't want to go to war.

4, you don't really ba-leeb dis du you? The only thing Mayweathers' are good at is fighting! :D

If Floyd saw the fight on Saturday, he's going to want Manny to take more than a blood test.  He'll ask for a DNA test, and pregnancy test, an I.Q. test, ANYTHING to get out of fighting him.

You's a funny man RJ, er, A.F., but you KNOW da tru-f!

With Floyd's mounting legal issues, I doubt a fight is going to happen anytime soon anyway, even if he weren't dodging.

Et tu, LL? :'(

I dun tole y'all, Floyd is just looking for one more payday before he retires for real.  He's going to hype this one up as long as he can to make as much as he can, then he'll go saddown.
But I do think LL is correct in that Floyd's legal issues will be the only thing to stop this fight. ;)
I will bless the Lord at all times, and his praise shall continually be in my mouth...

The only person left for Manny, other than Floyd, could be the winner of the Williams vs Martinez fight this Saturday.

I realize that it's a stretch but there's no one else.

His accomplishments already have him in a class by himself. As much as I want to see the dream fight, I can be content knowing that I witnessed greatness that may not ever be matched again.

In my opinion Floyd needs this fight for his legacy FAR more than Manny.

In one way, I'd say he needs to take this fight to show folks that he ISN'T scared of Manny.

In my mind, he's a coward and that will be his legacy to me. *kanyeshrug*

I don't know about 'FAR' more.

Being an undefeated champion says something.  Floyd is ducking Manny, but unlike what many say, Floyd has beaten some VERY good fighters.

He beat Oscar De La Hoya when Oscar was still a champion.

He beat a heralded and previous undefeated Ricky Hatton.

He beat a revitalized Shane Mosely.

Unfortunately for Floyd, after he demolished those fighters people suddenly said: "Hey those guys were old/bums anyway".

Sadly being undefeated means so much to Floyd that he's ducking Manny.  I say 'sadly' because I believe he would win and I KNOW it would be an amazing fight.  It would be boxing's first superfight in years.  Also, as sjon pointed out, Floyd is giving off the aura of being afraid.  NOT a good look in combat sports (boxing, MMA).

...I guess Pacquiao has Mayweather so scarred that he's out committing stupid crimes to use Prison as his ultimate dodging act.  :-\

...I bet all the kids wanted Floyd on their team when they played dodgeball at school.  That was a guaranteed win. lol

You have pretty much made my point. It's just my opinion but it seems to me that Floyd has made a career of hand picking opponents.

Most Mayweather fans have trouble naming 5 decent fighters that he has faced and although being undefeated says a lot it doesn't mean everything.

Manny has consistently sought out the best in every division. So even if he fought Williams or Martinez and lost a close fight it would still add to his legacy. He has shown himself to be a warrior as well as a humanitarian and may soon be his country's president.

I know he wants to fight Floyd but does he really need him at this point  :-\  I think not.

People forget about Diego Corrales, I believe he was undefeated at the time they fought.  I think he also fought Rickey and De La Hoya before Manny.  The critics turn to Sugar Shane and said, "He was too strong and just as fast as Floyd!"  When Floyd beat him...they said, "He fought an old Sugar Shane!"  Well that was the same Sugar Shane that destroyed the same person Manny fought this past Saturday.  For any boxers to be undefeated after 41 fights...that's impressive!

The key word is "most". Most people that I deal with are not boxing fans and it gets frustrating debating the sport.

I just feel like Manny has always sought the best. Multiple fights against Barrera, Morales, and Marquez. Retires Hatton and a washed up De La Hoya. (Yes he was washed up for Manny and Floyd. Oscar is an all time great but he was on a money grabbing mission his last few years in the game.)

He may have just retired another fighter that he gave up 15 plus pounds to.

Basically he's fighting on such a high level that even if Floyd is not scared to fight him, he feels that Manny has to be on something illegal.

I really think it's more about principle. To ask, no, demand that a guy do something that no other fighter in boxing history was required to do probably made Manny feel some kinda way. I've heard Roy Jones and Winkie Wright say that they understand where Manny stands on his position.

If Manny is using, and I don't believe he is, he will be found out. He's agreed to testing up to 2 weeks before the fight and they always draw blood in the locker room directly after the fight.

It's kinda like when that congressman called for a few big time pastors to open up all of their books. I think Creflo Dollar was 1 of them. I don't believe the congressman got his wish. Not because they were trying to hide anything but because he had no authority to make such a demand. Get it?   ;)

...we all know that as soon as Pacquiao starts landing blows and Floyd's baby face starts looking like Margarito's his crazy uncle and probably even Predator or Tales from the Crypt Floyd Sr. will get in the ring and choke the life out of Pacman like they did Zab. lol

...I think this is the Greatest Fight no one will ever get to see.  :-\

Ummm I can't believe Bernard Hopkins gone start running his mouth on this Pacman issue. I don't think that neither of these guys can really be call "the best pound for pound boxer" without having faced each other. Every fight that takes place before these guys fight is going to be a joke...IMO. I could've fought Pacman better than Margaritta (sp?)..He looked like he needed a Margaritta by the time he left the ring.. :o :o :o
