This happened when I was 18.

I was working a night shift and my manager asked me to go and get something for a customer from the back office.

So I go back there and my coworker was telling me a funny story.  He threw my focus off and I go back to my register where my boss was to man my station.  after 10 minutes of my boss staring at me I ask her "what do you want?" she says "the thing that I asked you for!"  :D

I felt really silly after that  :D

Years ago when I worked at a nursing home, I got sick and called myself calling off from work the next morning. I was so sick that I called my job and left my name, phone number and this message on the answering maching "This is (my name) and I'm calling off because I have diarrehea..." When I went into work the next day, my boss said, "Where were you yesterday?" I said, "I called off because I was sick... I explained what was wrong with me on the answering machine?" my boss said, "What answering machine? This company does not have an answering machine." I was so embarrassed because I dialed the wrong number and left that message on somebody elses answering machine.

Well this was at my army band's Christmas concert last yr.  I played tuba for most of the concert, but then had to switch to bass for two of the songs.  Well I go and pick my bass up and plug in.  There are sound wires and cords all over the floor that Im standing on, but I just happened to be standing on my OWN cord.  I move forward, and theres this giant "POP", which is the cord getting pulled out my bass.  I mean it was LOUD because it was in all the main speakers AND it was total silence in the theatre.  Right then the commander counts off the song while I'm scrambling on the ground trying to get the cord and plug it back in, which makes ANOTHER sound.  They got it all on video too.  The worse thing was, after the first pop, everyone could hear my 2 yr old daughter in the crowd go, "What was thaaattttt?"  :-\ :D :D

You would think that after doing it time and time again, I would've learned the lesson....

So this morning, I'm getting ready for work, blasting the Youthful Praise station on Pandora on my BB and my phone rang. It was an acquaintance who had also traveled to SC for the funeral; she was just checking on me to make sure I made it home safely, etc. I ended up talking to her all the way to work, came in the office, started up my computer, went to the kitchen to get coffee, came back to put my shoes on, etc. We talked for at least a good hour, so by the time I hung up, I had forgotten that Pandora was playing... I couldn't think fast enough to even figure out how to turn it off within .02 seconds, so my entire floor got a snippet of YP's "You Can Make It" and all its shout chords until I finally took the battery out.  :D :D

It's funny how much louder music seems in a quiet place. LOL
When you're in love you don't want to fall asleep bc reality is finally better than your dreams.

It's not really embarrassing but I fell asleep at work today for about 20 minutes. I woke up like what happened? I was listening to an online presentation and fell asleep 1/3 of the way in. Anyway.
