Nice ending Chords

Here's a sweet chord progression when ending numerous songs. Check it out.

F-C/Eb-Ab-C (Note) roll off the Ab and Bb right before hitting the right hand chord.

G-Eb/F-Bb-D

Ab-Eb/G-Bb-C-Eb

Bb-F/A-C-D-F

C-E-G-B/D-G-B

 (Note) Roll the right hand chord. This last chord sounds really nice when placed in the RIGHT place. It's just a M7chord in the left hand and a regular triad in the right. The triad in the right hand would be the dominant or the fifth tone in the key yor in. Try modulating this last chord up or down as much as you want, check it out, will improve your left hand chording. Let your ears be the judge, feel free to add or change. Peace

The key is C minor/Eb major right? I don't have a board to play this, but I can hear this in my head and it's a move I've used and still use. That last chord is a nice chord, especially if u add an A to it to form a CM76/9 chord:

C / A-B-D-E-G *basically every scale degree except 4

Well when you end the progression it doesn't have that minor sound to it, more of a jazzy sound. The progression does sound like it's in the key of Eb, Well C is the relative minor. Ill try that CM76/9 chord T-Block. Thanks

That's actually called a CM13 chord.

Well, when ur in a minor key and u end on a major chord as the 1, that technique is called the Picardy 3rd. So, yeah it's still C minor.

Playing in C minor is just like playing in Eb major. Ur using most of the same notes and chords as Eb major, but instead of Eb being ur 1, C is the 1, and in this case 1 is a minor chord. For an example, I'm gonna list a progression and show u how it fits in Eb major and C minor at the same time:

7-3-6 progression in Eb

D / C-F-Ab
G / B-Eb-F-Bb
C / Bb-D-F


2-5-1 progression in C minor

D / C-F-Ab
G / B-Eb-F-Bb
C / Bb-D-F


Now, look at those 2 progressions, do u see anything different? If u said no, ur incorrect. While they both use the exact same notes, one is a 7-3-6 progression, and the other is a 2-5-1 progression. Same notes and chords, but the 1 is different.

That's how minor keys work. They play off whatever it's relative major key is.

They are the same notes. Period.

The application(how one uses these notes)  is the difference.

If you had this progression and NOTHING else, one could argue that it's either a 7-3-6 or a 2-5-1.

9/10 times, one would conclude a 7-3-6 (because of the dominant 7th being played on the C).
































The 10th time would be you sayin', 'Well guys, it could be a 2-5-1 progression in C minor.'
