I'm just trying to get some reviews on the snare. Every one that I've tested in store are not tuned.
My goal as a musician is to be better than myself.

If you are able to do so, I suggest clearing some time in your schedule and going to one of said stores to tune the snare yourself. I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

But in all honestly bro, I say steer clear of anything Ahead. They just seem so cheesy to me. :-\

hey bro go to sam ash and take it off the wall, they dont mind at all, i went in there one day and messed with like 3 different snares, tuned them down,up any way i coud just to see what they had to offer, that John Tempest snare is pretty dope, its solid brass nickel plated 14x8, die cast hoops, that jawn blazes dude, but yea man u can do anything except walk out the store w/o paying for it....lol and I did mess with the Ahead snare while i was there.... it was cool, nothing spectacular about it
Do what you do, but do it well!!!

I use to drum tech for a guy that had one. He used a Black Beauty as his main. The Ahead was his backup. That snare is just their interpretation of a BB. He was sponsored by them so if he wasn't I'm sure he wouldn't have owned one. But he plays rock so I don't know how it sounds tuned up.
