i have been playing for this church for a little over a year, iam new to everything,i never have played for a church before, but anyway my question is,i have so many i really dont no where to start.the church was invited to be the guest choir at another church, one of the choir members
was on to do a solo.which is the pastor wife, she started singing and was going to play behind her,and she shook her head no,she didnt look back or nothing but i new was she was trying to say.so i just stopped playing
it made me feel real bad,i feel like she want give me a chance to ,do whatever i can to try to help,i wanted to say something to her,but it probaly wouldnt have mattered anyway.she hardly come to choir pratice so that we could,at least go over some of the solos she does sing,i would like to no if i should say something to her or not.i have other question also so am just going to go down the line.
1.is the musican in charge of the choir?or is the president of the choir?or the deacon over the choir?
2.i needed a choir director, and so i asked several people, and no one wanted to do it,so the lord sent someone and i asked her, would she like to try to do it and she agreed, but the choir, didnt fwant any parts of it,is it there decission?
3.the choir had this rule,if you dont come to choir rehersal, yoou dont sing that sunday.if you only have about 5 or 6 choir members and only 3 show up for choir rehersal do you think, that the other ones who didnt come should sing?
4.i am on the edge of giving up,at first when i started,i did everything to try to make sure everything was right, every where the choir  had to be i was there,i even quit my job to focus more of my attention on my music.
but for the last month and a half,i just dont care,i started back working even on the sundays,i didnt have to play, before that i was there even if i didnt have to play,i play every sunday except for one.i feel like if the choir dont want to do right why shoul i worry about it,i cant get half of them to come to rehersal, even though they live right at the church, when i have to drive about 75miles alltogether to get there,i have been finding excuses to cancel choir rehersal,i went this past saturday, and this is another thing, after choir rehersal, they told me that they was the guest choir at another church and if i would be able to go,at first i said iam not going to be able, because i had to be at work at 300pm which was the truth
so i tould them that i would go that i would call and tell them that i would be about 2 hours late,so get home check my messages, and the lady thats
over the lady that i was private sitting for, called and said that she has passed away,do you feel like the lord is trying to tell me something,i have
never been the type of person to do evil for evil, but enough is enough
my moma told me that i shouldnt  have went back to work, she also told me that, you just keep doing your best, and dont worry about those people
they are the kind of people of dont care in my oppion how they sound at
there own church, but when they have to go somewhere else they love to show out

thanks for listeing i just had to vent, nuch more where that came from

any replies would be greatly appreciated

It sound as though your discoraged.
First take a moment and question who would have you to be discouraged?
NOT CHRIST!!

He wants you to work for Him so that he may get the Glory from your life and it just might come through your trials.
It sounds like there is no order in the music minitry of the church and if that is the case. that is the first line of thinking it must be order where God is or he will not dwell.
you must know the vision of the pastor and get in line with it if he has no vision for music ministry then you now know what God wants you to pray for.
you must learn what the bible says about music ministry. in order for things to be in order and for God to really move in your ministry.

If you need more direction I can give it to you send me a prvate messg or email and I'll get back to you
be blessed pray this helps
Walk with the King and be a Blessing

To piggy-back (if I may) the comments made by Musmin7, this sounds like a test. I'd like to try and answer some of questions a little more directly.

1. As Musmin stated, if there is no order then God won't reign AND there'll be confusion. If there is no one in charge of the choir, then ask your Pastor. If he has no answers, then ask the members how they would like to address this issue. It gives them a sense of accountability.

2. Has your Pastor agreed to the new choir director? If so, then you and he should speak to the members of the choir and share the information. Sometimes, people don't like things thrust upon them; they like to feel included in the decision making process. Is this right? That's another discussion for another time. What I do know, is that I have been in your situation, and this process very well for my church and we are growing spiritual because of the process.

3. Simply put, sing with who you have. If you establishing protocol (or, in this case continuing protocol) then stand firm. No, people aren't going to like it, but they will respect you for it or they'll remove themselves from the process. Either way, order is being established.

4. DO NOT GIVE UP. It sounds to me like you have a huge enemy to fight, but God wouldn't have put you in that place to leave you. Trust in Him and NEVER doubt. God will see you through! I promise, He did it for me, and He'll do it for you.

God Bless,
Jonathan

I agree too, God should be put first. Also, don't get frustrated if someone doesn't want you to play while they're singing. This happens all the time, so I wouldn't take it personal at all. And don't say anything to her just pray about it.

If you believe the Lord wants you there, then everything will work out. It wouldn't hurt to talk with the Pastor about some of the things you are feeling. It could also resolve some of the problems.

Praying for you that everything works out.

i ONLY HAVE ONE THING TO SAY AND ITS A SONG THAT WE SING IN MY CHURCH:

Jesus, Jesus , Jesus
He's the answer
Jesus,Jesus, Jesus
He's the answer
Jesus, Jesus
He's the answer
He's the answer...Today... Smile my friend....Jesus is the answer, and he wont let you fall.... Look to him in earnst, sincerity-Oops!!...and he'll direct you, on what you should do, how and when you should do it...and like everyoen else has said...dont take it personal if someone doesnt want you to back them on their, solo......A solo is just that, if they start faltering help them out...and if they still dont want help....well you've tried..right?  RIGHT!!!! -Thats really all you can do...

Be bless
Lorenzo
