B3 chorus

anybody know which tube is used for chorus/vibrato?thanks

I believe it's the 12BH7.  It is a dual triode tube which basically means it has two sections. One side used for the vibrato drive circuit, the other side used for the final output stage.

I forgot, the 6AU6 is also used as the driver tube for the normal and vibrato channels.

thanks Ryan;is there only 1 6au6? if there are multiples-do they all work in unison?be blessed(as many times as I've replaced these you think I would rememeber)

There are two. IIRC, it's the rightmost 6AU6 on the preamp.

Wow, I didn't know that.  Maybe that's why my chorus and vibrato just plain stops working sometimes.

Yeah, that's a possible sign that the tube is going bad. Also be sure to check the 12BH7.

It's not always a vibrato scanner issue.

It's not always a vibrato scanner issue.
It's weird because it didn't work for over a year and then one day, it was working.  Worked for a few months and stopped again.  when you press the tabs, you don't get any sound.  I was told the preamp had been rebuilt but I'm not buying it.

You might check under the hood and look at the capacitors and resistors just to be sure. Some people consider replacing a couple of capacitors as rebuilt, which of course, is not the case.

I'll have to look into that.  As a side note, all this talk about tubes prompted me to check them out.  Turns out I had a bad tube which was the cause of a few annoying problems.  I never suspected it was caused by a bad tube.
