What I did was really really simple: Repetition
Keep repeating one section until I find the right sound. I find the bass note that is used in the song, then I try and find a chord based on the bass. You can alomst tell if something is a major or a minor when you hear it, kinda. For example, based on the bass, I then listen to the piano/organ chord for a "base sound" (major, minor, diminshed). After that is established, I try to "phatten" the chord. But, a song like this, there is a lot of chords and you can't stay on one chord for too long.

Why are you asking? Are the chords horribly wrong? lol

Also, what process do you use? Maybe, I can adopt it...

  • It's good to be BACK!!

Check this link out right here..

FMason shows you EVERYTHING on this song!!

I'm using this to learn it myself.  This is not an easy song to play the "RIGHT" way like Mike Bereal plays it.. LOL

Be blessed!!

Good one, I forgot he did a tutorial.

I guess it would also help to get jason White's dvd. Many of chords in that song were broken down in it, but with other songs used as examples

I'm just curious.  I haven't played through the chords you posted yet, so I don't know how they sound. I'm just trying to see how others learn songs as apposed to my method, bass first then chords second.

I go through the entire song and learn the bass notes.  After that, I translate them into numbers so I can find some "logical" chords that would go with them.  Usually with that I'm 90% in the ballpark of learning the song.  Then there's that other 10% where they do funky things.  I learn what they do, and if I like it I try to incoporate it into my style so that if I ever come across it in another song, I'll know what to do instantly.
